KITTY YARD
Privacy policy
How we handle your records, health permissions and website visits.
Updated and effective: October 25, 2026
Four things to know
No account or upload to developer servers.
Read-only access to four types after permission.
The developer does not receive card details or account passwords.
Cloudflare hosting and analytics do not read app data.
01Scope
This policy covers the KittyYard iPhone/iPad app, previously called CatBackyard or 后院有猫 (project name PetBackyard), and this website. It supports everyday records and companionship, not medical diagnosis, treatment, nutrition prescriptions or weight-loss promises.
02Local records and preferences
The app stores water and meal logs, times, goals, reminder settings, encounters, collection, pinned companions, onboarding and interface preferences on your device. These support local summaries, reminders and cat meetings. We do not require an app account, upload these records to developer servers or provide developer-run cloud sync.
03Apple Health
Connecting Apple Health is optional. With permission, the app only reads sleep, heart rate, resting heart rate and respiratory rate for on-device observations, trends and Biscuit summaries. Sleep affects companion style only if you separately enable that option. The app does not write Health data, upload health samples to the developer, sell them or use them for ads, marketing, tracking or data mining. Health-related explanations remain in necessary runtime memory, not collection records or exported backups. Revoke access in system settings or disconnect in the app; manual records and cats remain available.
04Notifications and widgets
With permission, iOS schedules water, meal, follow-up and low-frequency return notifications locally, without server push. You can turn them off in the app or system settings. Widgets read cat, background and habit summaries through a shared on-device container and do not send those summaries to the developer.
05App Store purchases
Apple StoreKit handles the one-time full-collection purchase and restoration. Apple processes payment and account transactions; the app verifies transactions and stores the local entitlement state needed for access. We do not receive card numbers, Apple ID passwords or billing addresses. Apple’s services and policies govern prices, transactions and refunds. The website does not take payments.
06Backup, restore and deletion
You can export records and collection into a file and import it to merge. It excludes health samples, health permissions and purchase rights. You choose where to save or share files; a cloud drive or third-party app applies its own rules. Clearing app data removes local app records and related state, but not original Apple Health data, App Store transactions or backup files you saved elsewhere. Apple system backups depend on your device settings.
07Accounts, ads and tracking
The app does not require an account, phone number, name or location. It has no advertising SDK, cross-app tracking or device fingerprinting and does not actively collect weight, BMI, diagnoses, prescriptions or calorie intake.
08Website and Cloudflare
Cloudflare Pages hosts this website. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, browser information, request paths and times to provide hosting, security, caching and network services. The domain also has Cloudflare Web Analytics for page loading and visit statistics. These website statistics are separate from app habit and health records. There are no advertising tracking scripts or personal-data forms, and the website cannot access the app’s records.
09Email correspondence
If you email the developer, your email address and message are used to reply, address suggestions and investigate issues. Do not send passwords, identity documents or health records. You can request deletion of correspondence through the same support email.
10Children and families
KittyYard is for general everyday record keeping and does not aim to collect children’s personal information. A guardian can contact the developer about relevant correspondence or a deletion request.
11Policy changes
We update this policy and its date if features or data handling change, and provide notice or request permission when required.
Privacy questions
